3193. Birding in Cairns and around, #1.

Decided to make birding notes separately from general daily notes. Started early today - with a 7.30 visit to Cairns Botanical Garden. Superb place! Actually can come even earlier - there are open areas nearby, and birding is best still one hour earlier at sunrise. Three top species for today: Pied Imperial Pigeon Ducula bicolor, Sulphur-crested Cockatoo Cacatua galerita, and our first Laughing Kookaburra Dacelo leachii (верно поправили латынь D.novaeguineae конечно).  Despite sometimes the quality of photo's is not OK - but our solution of camera+tele seems now essential for good bird identification. Actually all three top-today species seem to be not that rare here ;-)) The list of newly seens is already reaching 50 species ;-) just in three days.
