For the corals and fish have to wait for the underwater camera results, but the super-super-idea of going to this particular part of the reef - Michaelmas Cay (¨please google yourself for location now) is sure the birding passion as well. Thi is a national park and one of the top birds´breeding site in the entire Southern Hemisphere.
As for today the two cutest birds are Common and Black Noddies. Both common to abundant, both breed all the year round, very similar one to another... Common Noddy (Anous stolidus) has a shorter and thicker bill, BlackNoddy (Anous minutus) / longer and thinner. Hope you amnage to say one from another yourself.
Can´t specify all the foto´s of these cuties... Please note few things for the foto´s below: there is a very little part of the coast separated by / outlined with ropes - that is allowed to be used only by this unique GBR cruising company. Birds know the ropes definitely very well, and clearly cope also with the people. Incredible patience! On the foto´s / you can see they are displaying, feeding little chicks, incubating ion the nests in the grass, avoiding the juvenile beggars etc.
This was absolutely a Noddy Paradise. Combined with 1 hour scuba and smth like two hours snorkeling - it was THE DAY that you remember the rest of your life. I will.
